MISSION

Founded in 1994, the Foundation on International & Cross-Strait Studies (formerly Chinese Eurasian Foundation) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution dedicated to public policy analysis and impact. Initiated by elites in public & non-public sectors, business executives, and academics, the Foundation is committed to be a leading think tank in the R.O.C. (Taiwan). Its primary missions are:

to raise public awareness of national security interests,

to provide policy options for government and private sectors,

to enhance studies in the areas of Europe, Americas, and Asia-Pacific

to promote understandings across the Taiwan Strait, and to sponsor international exchanges and collaborations.

ORGANIZATION

The Foundation is operated under the guidance of the Board of Trustees. The chairman and vice chairman, are elected by all 11 trustees.
　

The President, appointed by the chairman, is in charge of daily operations. The Foundation consists of five research institutes: European & American Studies, Asia-Pacific Studies, Mainland China Studies, Cross-Strait Studies, and Strategy and Security Studies. The Foundation is supported by four functional divisions: planning directorate, research, generals affairs, and information management. In addition, the Foundation is directed by the Board of Advisors, all of who have extended experience in research, management and government service.
　

FOCUS

Strategic Perspective: The Foundation conducts integral assessments and early predictions with strategic perspectives in strategic issues such as Mainland China development, cross-strait relations, international and regional security, defense and foreign policies.
　

Policy Impact: The primary mission of the Foundation is to inform the public and shape policies through interdisciplinary studies. Timely Issue briefs, monthly newsletters, study reports, and occasional books published by the Foundation will be provided to both executive and legislative branches, the media as well as foreign policy community in foreign countries.
　

Nonpartisan Approach: One key function of the Foundation is to generate national debate on foreign, defense, and China policy that require consensus building. The Foundation convenes meetings involving government officials and experts from academia and major political parties to discuss policy issues.

FUNDING
	donations of individuals and business corporations;
	interest revenue of the endowment raised in its establishment;
	overhead revenue from contracted studies;
	other legal revenue.
